Privacy statement

This privacy statement applies to information we collect from volunteer registration forms, at events, through our website, email, subscribe button and personal contact.

We will only keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose we collected it for, including for legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

Only those who have a need to know will have access to your personal data. They will only process your personal data on our instructions, and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal date from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed.

We may take secure backups of this data and store these on a server in the EU. When no longer needed the data will be destroyed.

Volunteer’s data will be used to contact you, and will be stored for one year following your induction or until you stop volunteering with us.

Supporter’s data will be stored on Mailchimp, and every newsletter will include the option for you to unsubscribe. You can see Mailchimp’s privacy policy here.

We will not pass information about you to external parties without your permission unless required to do so for legal reasons.

You have the right to request a copy of all the information we hold about you, and may do this by emailing: welcome@raise.today. You can ask us to delete some or all of your information at any time.

 Refugee Action in Somerset East regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal information as very important. We will always do our utmost to ensure that our organisation treats personal information lawfully and correctly. To this end we fully endorse and adhere to the Principles of Data Protection as in the Data Protection Act that will come in to full force on 25th May 2018.
