Save Our Soles!

Part 3 of our ‘Save Our Soles’ appeal is specifically for children’s shoes!
In December 2018 we asked for your support in helping us collect 1,000 pairs of socks before Christmas, and we managed to collect and send 1,255 pairs.
In November 2019 we launched ‘Save Our Soles’ part 2, and successfully collected 1,501 pairs of socks, plus £430 towards buying even more socks.
Now, in 2020, we’re turning our attention to shoes!

You may have seen photos of barefooted children in refugee camps. This is all very well in the summer, but it’s just not good enough in the winter. And shoes that are falling to pieces won’t do either.

Our aim this year (well one of our aims!) is to collect and send a WHOLE PALLET of children’s shoes out to children in refugee camps across Europe before next winter. Many are without family, and all depend on donated aid to keep them warm and dry.

We’re looking for good quality, clean and serviceable shoes, that your children may have outgrown, but which can still keep a child’s feet warm and dry.

We’re grateful to the local schools who are already supporting us with this appeal.
If more schools would consider becoming collection points, please email Lorna on: lorna.thomas(at)btinternet.com.

You can also drop your shoes into any of our regular collection points in Frome, Bruton or Glastonbury.

We are grateful to our partners in this appeal, Hope & Aid Direct, who will be delivering our pallet of shoes to camps in Europe later this year.
